Alma Fennell Scholarships

GMTA offers awards of $200:
  • The Bernice Mansfield Hack Piano Award
  • Jeremy Avram Kushner Orchestral Instrument Award (non-piano)
  • Jane Richards Sterrett Voice Award
​ELIGIBILITY:
Applicants must be current students of a GMTA teacher who resides in District III (Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Dixie, Gilchrist, Hamilton, Lafayette, Levy, Madison, Marion, Putnam, Suwannee, Taylor, and Union counties).
Applicants must be juniors or seniors who have exhibited excellence in musicianship and scholarship.  Winners are not eligible to compete for the same award again.

AUDITION RULES:
  • Applicants must perform three memorized pieces representative of three historical periods and answer questions pertaining to their selected works. 
  • Accompanists must be someone other than the student's teacher.
  • Students should bring at least one copy of the music they will perform. No photocopies are permitted unless accompanied by proof of purchase.
  • Auditions are closed.
  • No concerto movements are allowed.
